(Part 4) - Monetizing articles on your website.
Original Article: The Power of Misspellings
I will recap for the people that didn't read the first 3 articles in this series.
Part 1: I wanted to perform a simple test about misspellings and selected the terms Orick Air Purifier and Orick Vacuum for my test (Oreck would be the correct spelling). I wrote a simple article using these Orick terms
Part 2: A few months later I noticed some action on these articles in my web reports. I wrote this article about the search engine listings that I acquired from these articles.
Part 3: I wrote about how I could monetize these articles and how I added Google Adsense to these article and made $50 the first month from Google.
Now for Part 4.
It's February 2007 now and it has officially been 1 month since I added affiliate program banners to these Orick Vacuum and Orick Air Purifier articles. I made $72.15 using Commission Junction affiliate banners in January and $22.66 in Google Adsense for a total of 94.81 in January. My adsense revenue went down considerably since the banners were added. I think this is due the placement of the Google text ads. I lowered the text ads to make room for the affiliate program graphics and gave the graphics better placement on the page.
You can view the placement of the affiliate graphics and the text ads by clicking on the links below. I think the test is over now, but I will keep you posted if anything changes or if I try something new.
